You may have seen her lighting up a room with her bold hair, kind eyes, and a heart full of passion — but who really is the Pink-Haired Lady?
Let me tell you.
🌸 A Rainbow in Human Form
I’m Karen — but most people know me as The Pink-Haired Lady.
I’m a 42-year-old woman navigating life with ADHD combined type, anxiety, and post-menopause — and I’m proudly the wife of an incredibly supportive husband and mum to my amazing 10-year-old son, John, who is Autistic and has ADHD.
My world is full of chaos and colour — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.I live for all things unicorn, glittery, pink… and honestly, rainbow everything. Because why limit joy to one colour?
💬 How KONNECT FEST Was Born
In 2021, I created KONNECT FEST — not just as an event, but as an extension of my heart and soul. It was built from a place of deep love, lived experience, and the desire to bring real connection into a space that so often feels disconnected.
As someone who’s been in the disability and community sector for over 20 years, I knew providers, families, and participants needed more than referrals and forms. We needed relationships. We needed community. We needed a place to just be human.
So, KONNECT FEST was born — and like many good things, it’s had its ups and downs. The NDIS industry has changed, evolved, and thrown a few curveballs. But through it all, this work has stayed close to my heart — and I truly wouldn't change a thing.
🧠 Lived Experience. Real Conversations.
I don’t run KONNECT FEST from the outside looking in. I live it. Every single day.
As a mum raising a neurodivergent child, as a neurodivergent woman myself, and as someone who deeply understands the beauty and challenges of the NDIS — I bring a level of empathy and authenticity that’s hard to fake.
That’s why KONNECT FEST isn’t just a business — it’s a purpose. A place for people like you to be seen, heard, supported, and celebrated.
🏡 Family First, Always
Behind the scenes, my husband and son John are part of the magic. My husband is a constant support — helping with events, ideas, and keeping me grounded when I’m flying through 10 tabs of unicorn-coloured creativity. And John? He’s my mini-me. He reminds me every day why I do this, and his joy, resilience, and sparkle inspire me more than he’ll ever know.
They’re not just my cheer squad. They’re part of the Konnect FEST family, too.
💛 The Mission
Whether you're a provider trying to grow your business, a family looking for support, or someone just trying to find your people in the NDIS world — I’m here. Not just as an event host, but as a connector, a listener, and a fellow human trying to make a difference.
I don't care if you've never come to an event — if you need someone in your corner, I'll be there.
No referral fees. No strings. Just heart.
So, who is the Pink-Haired Lady?
She’s a mum. A wife. A neurodivergent powerhouse. A rainbow-loving connector. And she’s here to help good humans find other good humans.
Because no one should do this alone.
