I swear, traveling with me is never boring. If you're looking for a smooth, no-stress trip, you’re in the wrong place. But if you want chaos, unexpected turns, and a great story to tell—buckle up!
So, our journey home started with a solid plan (or so I thought). Wake up at 2 AM, leave at 2:30 AM, and get to the airport in plenty of time. Simple, right? Except, slight miscalculation—the Airbnb wasn’t 30 minutes away like I had convinced myself. Oh no, it was over an hour away.
No worries, we got this. Next stop—the car rental return. Except, minor hiccup… it doesn’t open until 5 AM. Our flight? 5:50 AM. Time was not on our side. We quickly pivoted, figuring out that we had to drop the car at international departures instead and get ourselves over to domestic. Easy, right? Hahaha.
Bus or train? Neither were running until after 5 AM. So we needed a cab. Now, imagine this: me, John, and Peter crammed into the backseat of a taxi like a bunch of clowns, my suitcase riding shotgun because, of course, there was no room anywhere else. A ten-minute ride? Thirty dollars. But hey, we made it.
Just as we stepped out, our taxi driver and another taxi driver started going at it—full-on verbal sparring match right there at the airport. At 4 AM. And then—wait for it—the other driver tried to get INTO our cabbie’s car. Absolute madness. Sensory overload before most people have even had their first coffee of the day.
Finally, we made it to Jetstar. But guess what? My wallet boarding pass wouldn’t scan. So, off to check-in, where the line felt like it stretched across the entire country. Meanwhile, my hay fever was going wild, and to top it all off—I really had to pee.
You know that moment when your body is holding on for dear life, but the universe just keeps throwing obstacles in your way? That was me, practically speed-walking to security, praying to all the travel gods that I’d make it. Spoiler: I did. But barely. Peeing myself in an airport is not on my 2025 bucket list.
After the great bathroom escape, we made it to the gate and onto the plane. Just when we thought we were safe, we sat on the tarmac for what felt like forever. But here’s the silver lining—spotting a TikTok influencer in the wild. We met the dad from @havea_676, a family that does hilarious skits. I went up to him, told him how much I loved their content, and he was so appreciative. It reminded me just how much a simple compliment can make someone's day.
Seriously, why don’t we compliment people more? Instead of tearing each other down, let’s lift each other up. It doesn’t cost a thing and can make a world of difference.
After a whirlwind of 6 hours, we finally made it home. Now, it’s time to rest up, recharge, and get ready for the next big adventure. Because let’s be real, with me, there’s always another one around the corner!
Until next time, stay wild, stay kind, and keep spreading that good energy.
